2020 fees refunded

Camberwell Lacrosse Club is pleased to announce that all fees paid for the 2020 season have been refunded in full. Refunds were made via our payment provider Square and should be back in your account. Please contact membership @clclax.org.au if there are any concerns with the refund.

A major factor in our club remaining viable and not needing to charge fees is that our usual major season expenses, the Lacrosse Victoria fees and Boroondara Council grounds charges, are not being charged for 2020.

2020 Winter Season Cancelled

As a result of the COVID19 restrictions that are in place, Lacrosse Victoria has announced that the 2020 winter season has been cancelled. While Camberwell Lacrosse Club is disappointed, we support the decision that has been made.

The Club Committee has made the decision to refund all fees that have been paid for the 2020 season. The refund transactions will be initiated during July and August. The Club remains financially viable due to careful management of funds in the past.

June COVID Update

"Community sport for kids and non-contact competition for adults can proceed as planned." (Premier's statement)

This means that training will continue next week as for the past 3 weeks, with training being broken up into groups of no more than 20. However training can now be competitive for juniors.

These arrangements should continue into the School holidays, but watch for any alterations as requirements are changing all the time.

Camberwell Lacrosse Heading for Women's State League

Camberwell Lacrosse is excited to announce that it intends to field a team in Lacrosse Victoria's Women's State League competition in 2020.

After a stellar season last year winning the 2019 A Grade premiership, the time is right to step up to the highest level of club lacrosse in Australia. This is the first time in its history that Camberwell will have competed at this level of women’s lacrosse.

Bring a Friend

Camberwell Lacrosse Club is restarting our Bring a Friend program to encourage our players to introduce someone to lacrosse. We would love players of all ages to bring their friends to give them the chance to experience the best sport in the world.

Every player who brings a friend to training will get a ticket into a draw to win a new, high quality lacrosse stick. Bring two friends, get two tickets. Bring you whole class and your chances increase dramatically.

Training in June

Good news! Training will commence next week, starting Tuesday 2nd June.

Our conditions of use are very strict and require maximum group size of 20, strict hygiene of equipment, hand sanitising and social distancing. All participants must read the following.

Register now, training will start soon

Summary:

Wash your hands and sanitise
Use your own equipment
Train with a maximum of 20 players per zone
Maintain social distance of 1.5 metres
"Get in, train, get out"
Stay home if you are unwell

Camberwell Lacrosse Club is currently working to bring back lacrosse for 2020. We are waiting for the all-clear from Boroondara Council and the Return to Play Agreement to be signed off.

When club training does return there will be a number of key conditions (to be confirmed in full later):

This Girl Can session

A month ago, some keen lacrosse mums participated in an introductory #ThisGirlCan lacrosse session at Dorothy Laver Reserve East run by Tony Hollenkamp. Most had watched their kids play lacrosse but never really played themselves.  Below are some great shots. Unfortunately due to the coronavirus and social distancing, any further This Girl Can events have been postponed.

This Girl Can is to celebrate women and helping them to embrace physical activity in a way that suits them.

Use of the Chiefs motif

Attached is the Camberwell Lacrosse Club's statement regarding the use of the Chief's motif.

COVID - 19 Update, March 22nd

The State Premier of Victoria, Daniel Andrews, has announced that Victoria will proceed over the next 48 hours to implement a shutdown of all non-essential activity across our state to combat the spread of Coronavirus.

As a result of this, all club activity, including training will be cancelled.

This is an unprecedented situation that unfortunately justified these extreme measures.
