Vale Kirk Trewern 1970-2018

Camberwell Lacrosse Club tragically lost one of our club stalwarts after a short illness in September this year. He was a member of the club for over 35 years and made significant contributions to the club both on and off the field. This included playing for 35 years, coaching juniors, representing Victoria and winning premierships. He played 228 games for Camberwell, mostly as goal keeper, as well as being credited with 1 goal and 3 assists.

Premiership Triumph

Camberwell overcame the odds, and powerhouse Williamstown, to take out the 2018 Division Two premiership on Saturday 15th September. Coming from fourth place on the end-of-season ladder, the Chiefs squeezed their way past Altona and Surrey Park to make the Grand Final. Having dominant player, Mat Kerr, out of Victoria on business set the challenge for the day.

Girls Under 13 Grand Final

It was a happy and exciting day for players and parents on Sunday for the Girl's Under 13 Grand Final. Camberwell started as underdogs against Footscray which had dominated the competition all year. Our girls surprised everyone by putting up a mighty display in going down 10-4 but not before they showed just how much the team has advanced over recent weeks.

Five teams progress in the finals

Girls U13 - Preliminary Final

After last weeks heart stopping semi final win against Newport, the Camberwell supporters were nervous coming to a game against a team we lost to in the last game of the season. The girls, however, were well prepared and came out firing. In a first half blitz, the dynamic Camberwell midfielders scored 7 goals to none. Trinity, Ruby and Miakoda were damaging in the middle and drove hard at the goals. In the second half, the girls piled on another 4 to Eastsides 2, with Eva and Siena adding goals. The result was a comfortable victory.
