2019 under 18 nationals

Our Camberwell representatives arrived back from the under 18 nationals this week. The Victorian boys team was dominant and easily won every game, including the title against SA. The girls draw was far more even, with the teams finishing on even points after the pool rounds. Victoria made it through to the championship game but were beaten by SA.

A message from the Club President

Welcome back to previous club members and a Big welcome to new members for Lacrosse season 2019.

The weekend of Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th April is promising to be a big weekend.

Our new junior players, both boys and girls will be playing in their first real game against players from other clubs. It has been an exciting time for Coaches to train and prepare the players.  Thankyou to the Coaches for their expert and caring input. Thankyou also to those who have volunteered as Team managers and Scorers.

Mens State League starts this weekend

Camberwell Men's State League kicks off the 2019 season playing Malvern at the new MCC venue in Beaumaris at 2:30.

Come along to cheer on our boys. 117-135 Reserve Rd, Beaumaris VIC 3193

ERR move postponed

Camberwell Lacrosse Club was informed yesterday that the planned move of the club to Eric Raven Reserve has been delayed because Boroondara Council has been unable to install all 4 light posts in time. It was initially promised for next Tuesday the 2nd April but, despite repeated assurances in the past 4 months that it would be ready, only 2 poles have been installed.

Unfortunately this means that the plans made for the season launch event at our new training ground have to be changed. We will now train for another week at Dorothy Laver Reserve West.

2019 Junior's Underway - bring a friend

There was a great turnout to juniors training last week at Dorothy Laver Reserve West. We will be here until the end of March, and then we move operations to Eric Raven Reserve.

The girls trained on Wednesday at 5:30 under the guidance of Meredith Carre, with coaches Amanda, Cat and Bernie. We had a great turnout, particularly from some new Ashwood High School girls. It was pleasing to see more than a full team of U15 girls. Welcome to all the new players.

2019 Social Membership is now available

Camberwell Lacrosse social membership is now available to our supporters for only $50. It includes membership rights, a beanie and canteen voucher. And a great feeling from helping support our club.

There is also a very limited opportunity to be our first (and only) Number 1 Ticketholder for only $200. Get in fast before anyone else grabs the opportunity and earn the plaudits of everyone.

Frustration for Doug Fox

Doug is feeling totally frustrated by a recent period of feeling unwell leading up to two weeks of hospitalization and ultimately a diagnosis of Hodgkins Lymphoma.  This has kept him from active involvement with the current junior recruiting and will limit his opportunity to coach juniors this year. He was very much looking forward to an exciting year with the arrival of a great bunch of new Under 15 girls, a second boy's Under 13 team and a new bunch of Under 11's and Under 9's.

Welcome to new State League coach

Welcome to Lee Davis, our new State League Coach

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Camberwell’s new State League coach, Lee Davis.

Lee comes with a wealth of playing and coaching experience.

Special Scholarship for Talented Girls

Camberwell has a great core of girls for its Under 17 team for 2019 and is reaching out with a special promotion to add a few new players and complete the team.

A group of Club Supporters have banded together to offer three special scholarships that will be awarded for 2019 to girls aged 15 or 16 years who are skilled sportswomen in another team sport and have a desire to take up lacrosse. The scholarships will cover equipment, playing uniform and club membership fees and the recipients will receive fast-track coaching support to develop their lacrosse skills.
