Under 12 match reports Jun 5&19

Sunday June 19th v Williamstown Blue
The sun was out on Sunday for the U12 match at Malvern against Williamstown - a change from the freezing weather we had all been becoming accustomed to! Husdon jumped into goals for us in the first half, clearing well as the team settled in to the relentless transition game that has become u12 lacrosse. Captain of the Day Mia was fantastic from centre and led all over the field - supporting team mates and looking for opportunities to bring them into the game. Amelia, Genevieve and Tia ran hard all over the field, with a particular focus on getting back into defence which I LOVED!, and Lacey was everywhere - fighting for ground balls and shooting with precision and pace every chance she got. Her individual tally of 13 goals today seems to have been the highest individual score for a Camberwell player in 10 years - well done!
A superb second half effort from Charlotte P in goals made for a much more competitive second half, and congratulations to our Player of the Game Charlotte L whose transition efforts with and without the ball showed great grit, speed and awareness of space.
A great effort from everyone - so great to see you improving from game to game!
Final Score: Camberwell 19 - WWLC Blue 27

Sunday June 5th v Malvern/Caulfield
Our kids were not to be deterred but the cold, misty start to the day as we faced Malvern/Caulfield at Eric Raven. We welcomed Genevieve for her first game of lacrosse - a fantastic effort from you Gen! Lacey and Mia worked hard and smart throughout the midfield, as did Tia and our Captain of the Day Hudson - some great passing as you looked for connections in our offensive transition. Our shooting has improved but we can still work on this - when we get right on top of the keeper it's easier to save, so we'll work on shooting from a little further out at training. The Lal duo Charlotte and Amelia had some great runs with the ball and continued to take responsibility for their players in defence - so important, well done! And a huge congratulations for our goalie and Player of the Game Charlotte P - she took on the role with enthusiasm and was fantastic, making several crucial saves in a very tight, fast game.
Fantastic effort today team!
Final Score: Camberwell 21 - Malvern/Caulfield 22
