U13 Match Report - Sat. 13th April

Camberwell Blitz  3 lost to Williamstown  11

A couple of injured players and the long weekend combined to limit the Blitz to just 8 players for their game against the reigning premiers Williamstown.

Meet our New Junior Coaches

With 30 new junior players joining our club for the 2016 season there was a need to expand the pool of coaches.

Four of our finest stepped up to take on Under 11 and Under 13 team coaching roles.  Our junior players and their parents will enjoy and benefit from the enthusiasm and outstanding lacrosse skills that these coaches bring to their new roles.  They all have busy lives attending to their own full-time education at tertiary or higher secondary levels so give them a word of thanks when you see them making time for the important work of junior coaching.

Ben Greenwood prepares for the World Championships

We are all proud of Ben Greenwood following his selection in the Australian Under 19 team for the World Championships to be played in Vancouver, Canada in July.

But it's not just accolades and glory for Ben.

High on Agility

Have you seen the Under 13's weaving their way through the forest of yellow slalom poles at training?

It's part of a campaign to lift their speed and agility and develop two-handed skills before they graduate to Under 15's and stick checking.

The club is waiting on some rebounder equipment to go with the agility poles and provide young players with further opportunities to develop their stick-handling.

Blitz Makes the Jump to Under 13

Last year's successful Under 11 team handled the step up into Under 13 well during the opening 'round robin' series of matches played at Dorothy Laver Reserve.

In their opening  game against Surrey Red they scored the first two goals through Finn and Ed Whelen to lead 2 nil at the break.  Gale, Bigaignon and  Ashby added to the score line in the second half and Ed Whelen popped his second into the net to give the Blitz a 6-1 result.

Congratulations, Ben Greenwood

Camberwell Lacrosse Club would like to congratulate Ben Greenwood on his selection to the Under 19 Australian squad, which will represent Australia in the FIL U19 World Championships in Canada in July. Ben joins a long list of past and current players who represented their country in various Australian squads,

VALE Dawn Abraham

It is with sadness that we bring you the news of Dawn's passing. The Abraham family has been long time members and supporters of CLC. Murray Abraham has been Club Treasurer, committee member and long time parent and grandparent supporter, and Dawn was often seen by his side lending a hand, supporting our club and doing what needed to be done.

We would like to offer out sincere condolences to Murray, Noel and the rest of the Abraham family.

Camberwell Lacrosse Club

Official opening of the Eric Raven Reserve Multipurpose Synthetic Nets

As many of you know, we have been lobbying the City of Boroondara for a number of years to build a Wall-Ball area. This year the council has finally delivered and is inviting all members to attend the official opening ceremony.

2015 ALA U15 National Tournament report

Congratulations to the Camberwell boys playing for the Southern Crosse team that has recently won the 2015 U15 national championships. They went through the tournament undefeated, with the final win making it back-to-back titles (2014-2015). It was not all easy though, the boys fought very hard against determined opponents in the finals, prevailing by one goal in each game, with the final going 6-5 against the Western Metros.

Support the Aussie U19 men's team

Camberwell Lacrosse Club has 3 players vying for a spot on the roster to compete in the U19 World Champiosnhip in Canada in 2016.

The squad is hosting a fund raising movie night, and it would be great if as many as possible can come down and support our players (and watch a movie).
