Camberwell into the 2011 finals

On the back of a strong season, Camberwell has two teams into Grand Finals with a third side into the Preliminaries.

The Division 3 side easily accounted for MCC last week with a 14-4 win. The side earns a week off and progresses straight into the Grand Final.

Our Under 14 side finished 4th by percentage at the end of the home and away season. In the first two weeks of the finals they defeated Footscray and Altona and booked a place in the Grand Final against Malvern.

Under 14 - Semi Final

Having beaten Footscray last week to get a shot at the grand final, we travelled to Footscray to face Altona. They have been our toughest opponent this season and this game was promising to be no different. It did not disappoint. It was a nail biter "tale of two halves". Our start to the game was the worst Lacrosse the boys had played all season. Altona was killing us in transition and everyone seemed unfocused.

U12 Lightning Carnival Success

What a hectic day and fabulous weather. Our grounds were magnificent as the club hosted this special round. Congratulations to all involved and thanks to those hard working club members who assisted, scorers, timers, canteen, coaches, grounds etc. Congratulations to the winning Camberwell U14 team who will play in the next finals round. The morning was flat out and by the end of the carnival there were some very tired but satisfied U12 players.

First Lacrosse Movie to be Released in 2012

Can a ragtag high school lacrosse team from a Native American reservation beat the better-equipped players of the Prep School League to take the state championship crown?

Crooked Arrows is the first American sports movie dedicated to lacrosse. Drawn from the same inspiring line as iconic movies like Mighty Ducks, Hoosiers, and Bend It Like Beckham the movie chronicles the reluctant protagonist’s quest to reignite the spirit of his tribe by coaching the high school lacrosse team of his reservation.

Under 11 - Buzz

Score: Buzz 6 - MCC 10

Away to MCC and only the second official game for most of the team who are new to lacrosse. Three players were out with the flu so the team was grateful to be able to borrow experienced players Ethan Hausler and Lukas Zierhut from the Sting.
